It's Official, I'm one of Them!

Visitors to the garden often ask us, "Do you ever just sit out here by the pond with a beverage and enjoy the view?"

The answer to that question in the past has always been, "No."

Isn't that sad?  It really is.  Our problem is we just don't take the time out to enjoy the garden, because every time we sit down, we see something that needs weeding or pruning or deadheading, or, well, if you're a gardener, you know what I mean, right?  We're never satisfied, are we?

Well, today I am proud to say was different, today was the first day I spent sitting by the pond with a beverage in the company of wonderful friends........Today I was inducted into...........ready?.................

The Red Hat Society!

There I am, by the quarry pond, with a beverage!
There we are, enjoying the afternoon by the pond.  (L to R, Laura, Ann, Tracy, Me, Eileen, Rose and Ruth)
Ann's sisters and sister-in-law all got together here today for their Red Hat Meeting and made me an honorary member.  I was very happy to accept, what fun it was!  Only three of us were officially old enough to be Red Hatters, those under age 50 wear pink.
Rose brought along a selection of Red Hat wardrobe for new inductees like me.

We had a great time eating, sipping beverages and just chatting.

It appears Pudding Dog may have had a few too many:
Don't worry, she was only asleep!
All too soon the afternoon was over, but before they left, we had to have some group photography:

Front Row Lto R: Ruth, Tracy, Laura, Eileen, Rose and in the back row, Ann and I

The three Official Red Hatters of the Group (L-R Rose, Me, Eileen)

Pretty in Pink: Ruth, Laura, Ann and Tracy
The whole motley crew
Oh, it was a fun day!  My thanks to Ann and her sisters for a fantastic time and a day I will not soon forget!

'Til Next time,

Karen

Hi Karen, This looks like a good time, in a beautiful, beautiful spot. What a great place to sit and reflect and have a cup of tea or an adult beverage with friends! Blessings to you and your family!

The first photo in today's post is extremely effective... it could easily be from the top of a "rocky" mountain side... by the way, I was offered a red hat by one of my visiting clubs as well, but turned it down! Can't imagine why... looks like a fun day... L
